What is one memorable moment or experience from your time at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio?

I remember the first time doing clinical rotations at University Hospital and finally understanding ventilator graphics in real time. I really enjoyed how well prepared I felt when it finally came to applying clinical knowledge.

What/who inspired you to pursue Respiratory Care?

My professors from the department of respiratory care and my mentor Dr. Jay Peters inspired me to pursue Respiratory Care.

What are you up to to now, and what excites you most about it?

I am a pulmonary and critical care fellow with UT Health San Antonio. It’s basically like respiratory care on steroids, always exciting, always evolving with new research, medications and guidelines. It’s rewarding to be able to help the sickest patients in the hospital as well as learn interesting lung pathology.

What advice would you give to current students?

Never limit yourself. You can truly achieve what you set out to do, although the path and timing may not be what you want it to be.

What is your favorite fall activity?

In the fall, I enjoy a nice fire while watching football outside with my wife and puppy.
